Who is considered as self-employed?

A self-employed is a foreign national who is allowed to enter and settle in Canada because of relevant work experience in working for himself or herself in the arts or athletics. You may qualify if you have relevant work experience and get a Kminimum of 35 points based on five selection criteria and point system.

At present, the passing mark is 35 points, but it may be changed at any time. We may help you find the updated required points if you are planning to immigrate to Canada as self-employed.

If you apply for under self-employed immigration program, your application will be processed and assessed based on the documents



you submit, your score and your eligibility to meet the definition of self-employed person.

As part of the immigration process, you may be invited for an interview to explain:

  1. Imprecise or conflicting information
  2. Have enough funds/Capitol to settle in Canada
  3. flaws or gaps in the documents that you submitted
