OVERVIEW



In Family Reunification Program Canadian and permanent residents may sponsor their family members to immigrate to Canada and live a happy life with them. Your spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner, or dependent children may possibly apply to acquire Permanent Resident status in Canada then. There are different eligibility criteria for sponsoring different class of family members. As a sponsor, you are required to support financially your newly arrived family member.

BASIC NEEDS REQUIREMENTS

Shows that you can provide for the basic needs of the person you want to sponsor

*

Required to sign an undertaking to support their sponsored family member for 3 years (spouses and partners) and 20 years (parents and grandparents)

OTHER RELATIVE

Any other relative if you have none of the above relatives or family members, either in Canada or abroad.
