Super Visa

If you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and you want to be united with your parents and grandparents for a longer term, you may apply for Super Visa Program which is a multi-entry visitor visa valid for 2 years at initial period. It is a multiple entry that allows you to visit your children and grandchildren for up to 10 years.

In order to apply for the parent and grandparent super visa, you must be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada. Also, you must be admissible to be allowed to enter Canada. Throughout the time Super Visa holders are not allowed to work or enroll in any part-time or full-time studies. Also, they are also not allowed to Canadian benefits such as health care coverage.

There are several stages for the Super Visa application:

  1. Confirm your eligibility for a Super Visa.
  2. Compile the document file and application forms for a Canada Super visa.
  3. Submit the Super Visa Application.
  4. Wait for processing and respond to additional requests for information.
  5. Send your passport for stamping.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Get a letter of invitation from their family member who is either a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada.
  2. Demonstrate financial ability for trip to Canada.
  3. Have valid travel documentation.
  4. Get pre- requisite Canadian private medical Coverage for at least one year.
  5. Provide evidence that they are criminally and medically admissible to Canada.
  6. Get a written statement from that child or grandchild that he or she meets the required income threshold.
  7. A letter from your child or grandchild that he/she promised to provide financial support during your stay in Canada
  8. Have an immigration medical exam from a designated medical center.
